When Channel 12 News asked Perfect Wedding Planner and Perfect Wedding Planner Florals to do a segment on new wedding trends, of course we said yes! PWP loves sharing new ideas with our brides and what better way to do it then with a great local news channel. It just so happened that they asked us during their "Go Green" month, so we decided to take a play on that theme while still giving brides some unique ways they can personalize their wedding.
The ladies of Perfect Wedding Planner gave brides a few tips and how to’s to assist them with their wedding planning process. Brides are eager to have the perfect skin tone for pictures so it’s no secret that spray tanning has become so popular, but what happens when your tan goes from a natural glow to an orange mess?!?! PWP has the answer; we talked about our special way of fixing any spray tan nightmare. We always tell our brides to bring a comfortable pair of shoes with them on their wedding day, so we let News 12 in on the tips we share with our brides to stretch those shoes so that they are ready for dancing. Even though we focused on the day of the wedding, we also shared a fun "do it yourself" twist on the traditional bridal shower paper plate bow hat! When Perfect Wedding Planner hosts bridal showers we like to change things up a bit and update some fun traditions. We gave a lesson on how to make a stylish bridal shower headpiece with all of those beautiful bows using simple items found around your house!
The floral team at Perfect Wedding Planner Florals had a great time producing gorgeous bouquets while staying green! They showcased a fantastic way of replacing your everyday seating card table with a beautiful place card tree! How much greener can you get!?! By placing a small bunch of Birchwood branches (or any branches of your liking) and arranging them in a tall glass cylinder, you’re already halfway there! Then you can purchase recycled paper and make cut outs of your favorite design; we chose to do hearts. After adding names and table numbers, the cut outs are attached to a ribbon and then delicately dangle from the branches. This is a great and unique way to be paper conscious while sticking to a "Go Green" theme. PWP Florals also provided samples of floral centerpieces, bouquets, and flower girl accessories. All of the flowers used were purchased from local nurseries, which is a great way to support local agriculture. The flowers consisted of whites, greens, and every now and then a pop of vibrant pink, yellow and even some deep purple! Another trend we displayed is the inclusion of vegetables with your flowers. By mixing in some fresh Asparagus, our florist was able to show brides that vegetables and flowers really do compliment one another, especially if you are having a green wedding!
News 12 supplied us with an exciting opportunity to spread some of our Wedding 411 with our brides but if you didn’t catch us in the news, you can always find exciting and fun ideas for planning your wedding in the Wedding 411 section of Smitten or give us a call and schedule an appointment to meet with a planner at Perfect Wedding Planner!
